Stage Hands Sues Dick Clark Prods. Over Late Obligations For American Music Honours

Production stage hands Charles Griffin has sued against Dick Clark Productions over overtime for services around the 36th Annual American Music Honours telecast. Griffin has additionally asked for class-action status with respect to other stagehands on the program. Within the suit filed Monday in La Superior Court, Griffin states DCP hired him November 22, 2008 and released him “on or about” exactly the same date after completing work but didn't problem payment until Feb 5, 2009. Griffin’s complaint alleges DCP “fails to devote sufficient assets towards the accounting function which means that such overtime of wages is customary instead of exceptional.” Griffin states within the suit that condition law states that any released worker is titled to get payment over the following pay period following a finish of employment.
