USC to bring back and release John Carpenter's first Student film
John Contractor geekswill be very glad to know we'll soon be capable of trace him to his film roots. Captain Voyeur is John Carpenter's first film. It is really an 8-minute, black and white-colored short shot in 1969, which was discovered inside the archives of school of La.Because it is the famous horror director's first project it'll be restored and released while using the assistance of the country's Film Upkeep Foundation.Captain Voyeur was written and directed for Carpenter's opening film class. Captain Voyeur has thematic and visual ties to Carpenter's 1978 classic Halloween. One scene particularly is mentioned to experience a predominent connect with Halloween:"The voyeur puts on some glasses over his mask, much in the manner that Michael Myers used glasses inside the bed mattress sheet covering his mind inside the Halloween prologue."The man responsible for this excellent find, Dino Everett has mentioned: "Captain Voyeur follows a man inside a boring computer job who eyes a girl in the office and follows her home. He dons a mask and attempts to kill her but is shot by his co-worker."Once the film is restored we expect the film to become proven on DVD release an online-based, so soon we could see where the legend first began.
